QQC

Quote: "The up-stroke of the blade cut his hairs with a rasping sound. The noise stopped. Blood splashed bright over the white lather, ran down his throat and painted a river."

Question: Was uncle Jose trying to commit suicide?

Comment: On the autobiography the forging of a rebel, Arturo Barea is wondering about people having hairs all over the body, he thinks that women shouldn't have hair, but sometimes the grow some on their upper lips, especially when they are old; while uncle Jose is shaving he suddenly cuts himself, but I wonder if it was an accident or he was trying to commit suicide.
